Andrew Oakley’s role within Agri-feeds is to manage the technical facility. This includes managing the R & D budget, developing new products and services, and providing customers and staff with technical advice on Agri-feeds extensive range of products.

Andrew has been involved in agriculture in some form all of his working life, either directly on farm or within a research capacity. With a Diploma in Agriculture and 35 years in the industry, Andrew can draw on a working knowledge from a lifetime of experience.

Prior to coming to Agri-feeds in 2005 Andrew was employed by a company who specialised in breeding management programmes for cows. Before that he worked at Ag Research on many diverse research projects.

Customers and staff can rely on Andrew for his in-depth knowledge of Agri-feeds products as well as his technical expertise in animal health, nutrition and farm management feeding systems.

Working for Agri-feeds for 17 years, Marg’s technical role involves proving current and potential products.

“I think the role of developing and proving new ideas to improve production for farmers is very stimulating,” says Marg.

After choosing to combine her love of farming and science, Marg started her research career at Ruakura Research Centre.  She has also worked at a commercial agricultural laboratory, in a forestry factory, and as a quality auditer.

Marg believes that molasses is underrated and is a necessity for cows.  “In my mind, you cannot afford to not  use it.”

Marg and her husband live on a dairy farm south of Te Awamutu where they have an Ayrshire stud. Over the past four years Marg has been working on RumenX,  to adapt the programme to suit NZ rearing conditions. They are delighted with the production of the heifers which they have reared on the RumenX programme.

Grant Richards operates his own nutritional consultancy service based in Tauranga.

Nutrition education and advisory services form a major part of Grant’s business.  He works under contract to Agri-feeds.

Along with a background in farming, Grant has 22 years experience as a nutritionist in New Zealand and Australia.  His passion and key interests are nutritional response economics in calf and dairy systems.

Grant has a Bachelor of Agricultural Science from Massey University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Science (Human Nutrition) from Otago/Sydney University.

In his spare time he likes to spend time with his family and enjoys rugby and cricket coaching.
