Facts
Administering any bolus when you haven't done it before can seem daunting, particularly with large animals. However, size is relative, so what looks impossibly big to you, is not for the animal.
The Time Capsule is a robust bolus, that has been extensively trialled on many breeds and ages, without any administration problems.
Each Time Capsule needs to be the size it is, due to the daily dose of zinc necessary to protect animals against facial eczema over a prolonged period of time.
By following a few simple steps and with practice, administering the The Time Capsule is no more difficult than drenching, and of course you don t have to do it so often. One capsule replaces a minimum of five drenches in cattle and six in sheep, so less worry and less work. What could be easier? By following these simple steps, you ll see how easy and effective The Time Capsule is.
Steps
- 1. Request and watch the Time Capsule DVD.
- 2. If still not confident, contact your Agri-feeds Rep for a demonstration and training.
- 3. Ensure your yards are adequate (similar to that needed for any animal handling situation). For larger or less handled animals, use a head bail for convenience.
- 4. Allocate sufficient time to do the job without rushing. It may take a couple of minutes per animal until you become practised.
- 5. Allow the animals to settle after yarding.
- 6. FULLY READ THE INSTRUCTIONS PROVIDED WITH EVERY PACK OF THE TIME CAPSULE.
- 7. ONLY use the Time Capsule applicators. This will ensure ease of administration, as the guns have been designed specifically for applying the boluses.
- 8. Make sure you are using the correct Time Capsule bolus size and gun for the animal being treated.
- 9. If your time is stretched, you feel your facilities are not adequate, or you are not comfortable administering the boluses yourself, contact Agrifeeds or your retailer to arrange for an administration contractor.
